What is botox?
Botulinum toxin type A, which is widely used in medicine in neurology, and when it comes to aesthetic interventions, we use it in the upper third of the face, as well as in the therapy of increased sweating. Botox works by relaxing the muscles and thus reducing the possibility of strong contraction.
Wrinkles on the forehead, between the eyebrows and around the eyes occur as a result of strong muscle contraction during spontaneous mimicry. Every time a muscle contracts, it pulls the skin with it. After some time, wrinkles become visible. Therefore, the goal of Botox therapy is to reduce contraction and prevent deepening of wrinkles.
When is the right time for botox?
It is ideal to do botox preventively. In young people who have intense facial expressions, but still struggle, they cannot see when the face is at rest. When wrinkles are seen in peace, it means that they are the result of long-term muscle spasms. We call it a memory trace. In such situations, after botox intervention, the wrinkles will not disappear completely, but they will be shallower. I advise these patients to repeat the therapy every 6 months. After a few regular treatments, the wrinkles will disappear completely.
Is botox safe?
Completely. as soon as something is approved by the drug agency as a medical device and registered for use, you can be sure that it is safe. Certain doses are prescribed which we doctors adhere to. Most patients are afraid of the word toxin – it is a highly purified toxin and therefore there is no reason to be afraid.
Does it get the effect of facial stiffness?
The effect of stiffness must not be obtained. That is why it is important which preparation is used. Vistabel (botox allergan) is a preparation re-established for this application, which will not give stiffness and an artificial appearance.
The effects of botox are visible after five to seven days.
Application of botox:
1. Application of botox in the therapy of mimic wrinkles (between the eyebrows), wrinkles around the eyes, wrinkles on the forehead
In addition to creating an uncomfortable feeling, sweating is sometimes very uncomfortable for aesthetic reasons. The problem is not the usual sweating to cool the body, during thermoregulation, but excessive sweating, independent of the season, temperature and other weather conditions, professionally – HYPERHIDROSIS.
Many studies have confirmed the effectiveness of Botox in the treatment of increased sweating. It works by temporarily blocking the conduction of the nerve endings that act to stimulate the sweat glands.
It is important to emphasize that this treatment does not cure hyperhidrosis, but only eliminates excessive sweating for 6 months. Tretan can be repeated, no more than 2 times a year.
What does the procedure look like?
Before the procedure itself, an anesthetic is applied to the desired region. The procedure involves 10 to 15 small punctures with fine needles in the region to be treated. This therapy is especially indicated for the armpit region. The effect of botox will manifest itself in 3 to 7 days.
Immediately after the treatment, it is not recommended to apply cosmetic preparations in the form of deodorant or stick.
Duration of the procedure: 45 minutes
